Leeds U21s predicted XI vs Tranmere: Moore, Spencer and Dean start
Leeds United open their Papa John’s Trophy campaign on Tuesday night as the Whites’ U21s travel to Tranmere.
Mark Jackson’s men will be hoping to secure a positive result to lift a little of the gloom currently surrounding Elland Road amid the first-team’s difficult start to the campaign.
The game presents a fantastic opportunity to a number of young players as they look to push their way into the under-23 fold.
Leeds tended to leave many of their under-23 regulars out of the side in this competition last season. So the lineup may include a number of names fans are a little more unfamiliar with.
The likes of Cody Drameh, Nohan Kenneh, Lewis Bate, Stuart McKinstry and Sean McGurk could be involved.
There is also a chance for Max Dean, who scored twice in a game against Barrow in the same competition last season.
Dean is actually one of four 17-year-olds included. Kris Moore, Morten Spencer, Charlie Allen also get the nod.
Players such as Charlie Cresswell and Leo Hjelde may not be risked. The pair could be valuable to the first-team in the coming weeks.
Leeds could be without Pascal Struijk, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch for Friday’s clash with Newcastle.

Others on the periphery of the senior squad should also be rested. Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville may not be needed.
Of the players potentially involved, look out for Moore and Spencer. The pair could be outrageous prospects to keep an eye on in the coming years.
With that in mind, here is how Leeds’ U21s may line up on Tuesday…
