Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that the Whites will be without defender, Junior Firpo, for the clash with Frank Lampard’s Everton this weekend.
The Leeds boss has been speaking to the press ahead of the tie with the Toffees at Goodison Park. A red-hot atmosphere is expected for Lampard’s first Premier League game at home. He did, of course, lose his first outing in league action at Newcastle this weekend.

A win for Bielsa’s side could move them up into 12th and offer more breathing room between them and the dreaded relegation places. However, the Leeds boss has confirmed that as well as Kalvin Phillips being out, that Leeds will also be without their summer signing, Junior Firpo.
“He is healthy, but we’re not going to anticipate his return. We anticipate his return will be next week,” Bielsa said in his presser. (Leeds Live)
Firpo, who Leeds supremo Angus Kinnear has previously described as being ‘world-class’, has made 18 appearances this season for the Whites. The defender has missed the last two games with injury already.
TBR’s View: Firpo Loss A Blow For Leeds
Bielsa’s side haven’t half had rotten luck with injuries this season. Every other week there seems to be an issue and it always seems to be a player who would be selected for the first XI.
Firpo has done well for Leeds this season with being spectacular. However, there had been some promising signs he was adapting to life in the Premier League before his injury.
Leeds should be ok, in terms of relegation. They’ve picked up some good results and looked back to their old ways a bit more recently. However, Bielsa would surely like all his players fit and firing. The sooner that Firpo is back, then, the better for the Elland Road outfit.
