Leeds United are reportedly interested in goalkeeper Mark Travers from Premier League club Bournemouth.

According to the Irish Sun, the Whites are joined by Norwich City in eyeing up the 20-year-old.

It is understood that both teams have registered their interest in the shot-stopper, who is expected to earn a new improved deal with Bournemouth.

The report details that he is keen to find out his first-team prospects for next season and whether a loan is a possibility.

Travers is a highly-rated ace that has been called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad, but is still waiting to earn his first cap.

He made his Premier League debut at the back end of last season for Bournemouth with an eye-catching display in the win over Tottenham, while he also played on the final day in a 5-3 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Travers is an exciting young talent that showed his potential against Spurs, but bringing him to Elland Road would be a slight gamble for Leeds.

Leeds finished the campaign with Kiko Casilla in goal and he’s been inconsistent since he January arrival.

The 32-year-old is an ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper and has a lot of experience, but made a few individual errors that cost his team.

He kept six clean sheets in 19 games for the Yorkshire giants and there are certainly question marks over his spot in Marcelo Bielsa’s XI going into next season.

But the experience of Casilla surely outweighs someone with just two first-team appearances in Travers.

It would be a sizeable gamble to put trust in Bournemouth’s prodigy in the Championship.
