Leeds target Lewis Bate appears to drop intriguing hint on Instagram
Lewis Bate appears to have fuelled speculation that he may be on the way to Leeds United this summer, with the Chelsea starlet following almost the entire Whites squad on Instagram.
It was reported on Monday that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are one of the teams keen on signing the 18-year-old.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton also want the midfielder.
It is claimed that he is now into the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge. And interestingly, it has been suggested that he has stalled on signing fresh terms with the Blues.
That appears to have prompted a number of sides to take a look. And now there appears to have been an intriguing twist on social media.
A look on Bate’s Instagram shows that the teenager follows the large majority of the Leeds United squad on the platform.
Amongst those followed are Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford. Meanwhile, several of the under-23s are also being followed.
Of course, that could ultimately mean absolutely nothing. He does also follow a number of Liverpool and West Ham stars.
But the sheer number of Leeds players being followed by Bate is quite something…
The Whites have done brilliantly when it comes to bolstering their youth ranks in recent years.
Last year, they signed players such as Cody Drameh, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt. And the trio are amongst those now seemingly on the periphery of the first-team fold.
So if Bate is considering joining a club where a path to the first-team is there, a move to Elland Road could be extremely appealing.
