Leeds target Ben Foster predicts where Marsch’s side will finish this year

Reported Leeds United target Ben Foster has told his YouTube channel that he sees the Whites enduring another tough campaign this season and finishing close to the relegation zone – but did, interestingly, praise Jesse Marsch.

Leeds, of course, are looking to ensure that they do not endure the drama of last season. The Whites went into the final day of the campaign inside the bottom three, needing to better Burnley’s result.

Fortunately, Leeds managed it. And it has since been a summer of great change at Elland Road.

They have lost their two best players in Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips. But they have also welcomed a raft of new signings. And Marsch has now had a chance to really impart his ideas on the squad after taking over from Marcelo Bielsa midway through last season.

Nevertheless, Foster believes that it is going to be a tough year for Leeds – even if he does not expect them to go down.

“I think it will be another tough season for them. Raphinha has gone out of the door, Kalvin Phillips has gone out of the door. They’ll miss them,” he told his YouTube channel.

“They are recruiting, but still. I do like the manager though. I do love Jesse Marsch. I don’t think they’ll get relegated, but I think they will struggle, I have them down in 16th place.”

Leeds target Foster backs Whites to finish 16th

It was not too long ago that reports claimed that Leeds had considered a bid for Ben Foster. The goalkeeper is still a free agent after leaving Watford.

The Whites probably could do with signing a more experienced backup for Illan Meslier. And for plenty of supporters, Foster would probably be perfect.

Perhaps, his underwhelming prediction is a message to Leeds that they need to make more signings – including in the goalkeeper department.
