With Leeds’ thin squad beginning to waver slightly, thoughts are beginning to turn to the January transfer window and how Marcelo Bielsa can use it to secure the recruits that would give him the squad depth and quality to maintain a genuine promotion push.
Recent reports claim that the Argentine is preparing to raid Championship rivals Swansea City for their talented winger Daniel James, who is entering the final months of his contract at the Liberty Stadium.
It has been a breakthrough season for James at Swansea, securing four assists in the league as well as earning a plac in Ryan Giggs’ senior Wales squad on the back of those impressive performances.
Of course, Bielsa would likely use James to bolster his squad depth – there are no guarantees he’d be a guaranteed starter – but his arrival would put pressure on Ezgjan Alioski.

The winger has been inconsistent so far this season and while his struggles with remaining onside are not new, they remain frustrating.
Bielsa needs better options in order to offer a threat to Alioski’s starting place; it might give him the wake-up call he needs to get his form together and help Leeds get their consistency back.
