Leeds went top of the Championship with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Brentford last night thanks to a go from Eddie Nketiah.
The Whites have kept three clean sheets in a row, as a defence marshalled by Liam Cooper and Ben White look more secure than the backline did last season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side needed to tighten up and make the most of their limited defensive options – in terms of numbers – compared to last season and the signs are that they’re doing exactly that.
Cooper drew plenty of praise on Twitter for his performance at the heart of a defence that is proving to be the bedrock of another strong start to the season.

He has had to step up even more following the departure of Pontus Jansson – who he came up against for the first time since he left this summer – and is doing exactly that.
Ultimately, Cooper kept a clean sheet in last night’s meeting and Jansson didn’t, and Leeds are showing precious few signs of missing the Swede so far.
