Jack Jenkins starred once again for Mark Jackson’s Leeds United Under-23 side on Sunday afternoon as the Whites produced a stunning performance to beat Crystal Palace’s second string 4-1 – and Whites fans have applauded the midfielder.
The Whites moved to level points with Premier League 2 Division 2 leaders Middlesbrough thanks to the emphatic win. Summer signing Joe Gelhardt netted a brace for the club’s reserve team, while Cody Drameh and a late Max Dean strike secured victory.
Jenkins has emerged this season as a permanent fixture of the side, after being in and out of the team last term under now-Huddersfield Town boss Carlos Corberan. Of the club’s seven Under-23 league games, Jenkins has played six times.

The midfielder laid on assists in the wins over Sunderland and then Middlesbrough, and continued his excellent form for Jackson’s men on Sunday. Leeds lack a holding midfielder to cover Kalvin Phillips, but one could be emerging.
Alfie McCalmont has gone on loan to Oldham and while thr hype is big surrounding the Northern Irishman, he is yet to build on that potential. Indeed, Jenkins is earning plaudits for his performances, and he might just overtake McCalmont.
Leeds supporters have reacted on Twitter to Jenkins’ excellent effort against Palace as the Eagles were outclassed by Leeds. Many have heaped praise on the teenager, with one fan saying Jenkins has a “right engine on him”.
