Henri Kumwenda has further established himself as one name for Leeds United fans to keep an eye out for after bagging a hat-trick for the Whites’ under-18s over the weekend.
Kumwenda looks to be one of the most exciting prospects coming through at Thorp Arch right now. And given the talent that appears to be pushing towards knocking on Marcelo Bielsa’s door, that is certainly saying something.

The 18-year-old – who has had a taste of under-23 football at Elland Road – staked a further claim for more opportunities for Carlos Corberan’s side over the weekend.
The striker bagged a hat-trick as Leeds beat Crewe Alexandra 4-3 on Saturday. Interestingly, it was a trialist who bagged the Whites’ other goal.

And unsurprisingly, Kumwenda was keen to take to social media to express his delight after bagging the treble in the game.
TBR View – Potential opportunity for Kumwenda
Leeds’s under-23 side suffered a major blow earlier in the year. The club confirmed on their official website that Ryan Edmondson will miss the large majority of the remaining months of the season after undergoing surgery.
It is a major setback for Edmondson. But perhaps, it opens the door for the likes of Kumwenda to make a greater impact for the under-23s in the coming months.
He certainly appears to be doing all he can to catch Corberan’s eye. So perhaps it should not be a big surprise to see the teenager receive another call-up in the near future following his hat-trick at the weekend.
