Luke Ayling has sent a touching message to West Bromwich Albion defender Kyle Bartley after both players earned promotion to the Premier League – with the Baggies doing enough despite drawing against QPR.
Leeds United secured promotion to the Premier League last week as Bartley’s West Brom suffered defeat to Huddersfield, while Brentford’s loss to Stoke saw them earn the title as champions.
Leeds have since won matches against Derby County and Charlton Athletic. Meanwhile, the Baggies needed to better Brentford’s results to secure an automatic slot. It was touch and go, but a 2-2 draw secured a place in top two.
Ayling came through the ranks at Arsenal alongside Bartley before the duo reunited at Leeds United during the 2016-17 season – when Garry Monk lured Bartley to Elland Road. Ayling sent a message to Bartley on Twitter.

Bartley, 29, played 50 times for Leeds during that campaign as Leeds came within an inch of finishing in the play-off places. He has since played 74 times for West Brom, though he has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
Leeds supporters responded to Ayling’s Tweet to Bartley as the Whites and West Brom secured a place in the Premier League, and some applauded the centre-back’s promotion with the Baggies.
