Kalvin Phillips has told Leeds United teammate Leif Davis during a gaming session on Twitch – as per Leeds Live -that he could be available to face Arsenal, with an injection scheduled for after the international break.

Phillips, 24, has missed the last three Premier League matches due to a shoulder injury – which he picked up in training ahead of the 3-0 win over Aston Villa. His absence has been felt in defeats to both Leicester and Palace.

The England international has won four caps for his country this season but he has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s latest squad due to the injury – with England taking on Ireland, Iceland and Belgium.

Phillips, though, gave an update that Leeds fans will be delighted to hear. While on Twitch with Davis, Phillips responded to a question from his left-footed teammate – stating he could play against Arsenal on November 22.

“It’s still sore mate, it’s been sore for ages. I’m meant to get an injection at the end of the international break,” Phillips responded, when asked by Davis about his shoulder.

Davis then asked if he would be available to face Arsenal, to which Phillips replied: “Yeah. Hopefully, anyway.”

TBR’s view – Getting Phillips back is absolutely crucial

Without Phillips, Leeds have looked fragile in their last two matches. Yes, the Whites smashed Villa in his absence but that was arguably more because of Patrick Bamford’s explosive finishing – with Villa also having chances.

If Leeds are to stand any chance of stopping the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and other Arsenal stars, they need Phillips to be fit. The £30k-a-week (Mirror) star’s latest update, then, is enormous news.
