Leeds signing Mateusz Klich for £1.5m is daylight robbery

Leeds United currently sit second in the Championship table and have a five-point cushion inside the automatic promotion spots.

Marcelo Bielsa has managed to install a brilliant work-rate into his group at Elland Road, but there has also been some unreliable individual performances along the way.

Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe have stolen the headlines for their attacking contributions, while Kalvin Phillips has been extremely reliable in the defensive midfield role.

But Mateusz Klich is perhaps someone that is going under the radar at the Yorkshire giants and he continues to play a pivotal role in the push for a return to the Premier League.

The Poland international signed for Leeds back in the 2017 and his £1.5million (Yorkshire Evening Post) fee now looks an immense bargain.

Klich had a difficult first year with spells on the sidelines and a loan exit for the second half of the season with FC Utrecht.

But he’s become an ever-present in Bielsa’s team and is turning out to be a genius signing.

Klich is a central midfielder that can go underrated and the tremendous workload he gets through every match is incredible.

The 28-year-old constantly bombs up and down the pitch to help out in offensive and defensive scenarios.

He’s already scored five goals and supplied five assists in the league this season, with Bielsa clearly showing a lot of trust in him.

Klich may be on a mini goal drought right now, but he continues to be a crucial cog in the centre of the park and they would be able to notice his absence.
