Leeds shouldn’t mind losing race for Jake Hastie if they revive Jarrod Bowen interest

Leeds United were previously mentioned as one of three English Championship clubs chasing Motherwell winger Jake Hastie.

The Daily Record reported earlier in February that the Whites, Norwich City and West Brom have all eyed the 19-year-old making a name for himself in the Scottish Premiership.

The report further detailed that Swansea City and Sunderland scouted the attacker, who could be available for a cut price development fee in the summer.

According to the Scottish Sun now, Hull City are the latest team to keep tabs on Hastie as Motherwell try to tie him to a new contract.

The Scottish club have offered him a three-year deal to stay, but Hull are keeping a close eye on him.

Leeds should reignite their former interest in Jarrod Bowen if Hull end up winning the pursuit for Hastie.

According to the Daily Mail in December, Leeds were planning a move for Hull dazzler Bowen in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old right-winger has been tearing up the Championship this campaign and would be a marquee addition if Leeds could bring him to Elland Road in the summer.

He’s scored 16 league goals to date and looks good enough to make the step up to the Premier League, which is where Leeds hope to find themselves next season.

It could be a sizeable task trying to prize Bowen away from Hull, but it should be on Leeds’ radar if they want to strengthen their own team and perhaps Hastie could have a role to play as his replacement.
