Leeds should use upcoming Hull clash as scouting mission for Bowen

Leeds United will be searching for a replacement for Samu Saiz in the January transfer window.

The creative Spanish midfield man has joined Getafe on an initial loan ahead of a permanent move in the summer.

And Leeds need another option in attacking midfield to ensure they are well-equipped for the promotion run-in.

According to Sky Sports News, Leeds are set to miss out on one of their targets as Rajiv van La Parra undergoes a medical at Middlesbrough.

The Sun reported that Leeds were tracking van La Parra but he looks Middlesbrough-bound.

This could be a blessing in disguise, though, as Leeds should be considering Jarrod Bowen instead.

The 22-year-old scored 14 goals last season in his breakthrough campaign and has followed that up with a tally of eight in 24 this season.

The Sun recently reported that Fulham and Cardiff City are in the hunt for the £5m-rated winger.

But at that price, Leeds should be competing for Bowen, even though they are in a lower division.

The lively youngster could be tempted to join Leeds’ promotion push and he could replace Saiz’s creativity in midfield.

Bowen offers goals, as well as his three assists this season, and Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa should watch him closely when Hull travel to Elland Road on Saturday.
