Leeds United need to try sign a centre-back in the New Year to strengthen their squad and should weigh up a move for Newcastle United’s Ciaran Clark.
According to the Chronicle, Premier League outfit Newcastle could look to offload the 29-year-old in January if their ace Florian Lejeune can prove his fitness.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side should be all over a potential swoop if he becomes fully available, as he would be a shrewd addition at Elland Road.
Clark, 29, is an experienced centre-back that has spent most of his career in the top flight and would be able to slot straight into the Leeds side.
He is a left-footed defender that is comfortable on the ball and would provide the perfect competition in the squad for Whites captain and mainstay Liam Cooper.

Bielsa has already had to juggle countless injuries to his squad this season and is definitely light in the heart of defence if they want to sustain a potential promotion bid.
Clark previously helped Newcastle secure promotion from the Championship and is very much built in the same mould as Cooper, as they are left-footed and strong leaders at the back.
Clark has not enjoyed the best season so far in the Premier League and slipped out of the starting XI, but is a real force at Championship level.
