According to AS, Martin Odegaard is set to leave Real Madrid on a two-year loan deal. Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and Spanish club Real Sociedad currently represent the two most likely destinations for the Norwegian.
However, Leeds United should make a bold attempt to bring Odegaard to English shores this summer. Whilst the Whites may not be a top flight outfit, such as Bayer Leverkusen or Real Sociedad, Elland Road could still be an attractive destination for the 20-year-old.
Odegaard would likely get plenty of game time with the Yorkshire club. He has the quality to quickly establish himself as a starter in the Championship. He may struggle to get as much game time elsewhere.
What’s more, Leeds are an ambitious club on the up. They came tantalisingly close to promotion last season and will be desperate to go all the way this time around. Odegaard could achieve something special with Leeds this season.

Finally, the lure of working with coach Marcelo Bielsa could tempt the Real Madrid man to Leeds. The Argentine coach has a reputation for developing young talents and Odegaard would certainly improve under his tutelage.
Odegaard would improve Leeds too. The 18-cap Norway international would bring guile and creativity to the Whites’ attack and could play a big part in helping Leeds secure promotion.
Leeds have had recent dealings with the Spanish giants concerning the signing of Kiko Casilla. They should approach the club again, this time over Odegaard, as they may just be able to strike a deal.
