Manchester City are considering recalling Tosin Adarabioyo early from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion, according to the Birmingham Mail.
They report that the reigning Premier League champions are concerned about the way the defender’s gametime has dwindled lately and want to relocate him somewhere he will play more by the end of the transfer window.
The arrival of Mason Holgate on loan from Everton has shunted Adarabioyo down the pecking order – as he can play at both centre-half and right-back – and the 21-year-old needs games for his development.
Another side near the top of the Championship who are looking light on defensive options are Leeds United, who have injury problems to contend with throughout the season as well.
Marcelo Bielsa is held in high regard by Pep Guardiola, and the Spaniard would likely approve one of his hottest young talents being exposed his attractive, demanding style of play.
Adarabioyo also needs more gametime at centre-half, where his long term future looks set to be, and Leeds could offer that opportunity – he could nail down a starting berth.
He is an athletic, technical defender, who would offer a huge boost to Bielsa’s defensive options – if he can use his links with Guardiola to get his man.
