Leeds United are currently a point outside of the automatic promotion spots in the Championship with eight games to go and there is a real belief around Elland Road that they could have Premier League football next year.
The Whites have a pivotal couple of months left to try get over the line and the style that manager Marcelo Bielsa has brought to the team has been impressive.
With a return to the top flight on the cards, Leeds would need to make some upgrades if they were promoted.
One area that Bielsa should definitely look to improve if promoted is the right-back area.
Luke Ayling has been a great servant for the Yorkshire club since he joined in 2016 and is playing his role this season, but lacks experience at the top level and his performances have been inconsistent at times.
Leeds should be drawn towards a bargain swoop for full-back Kevin Mbabu, who is currently at Swiss top-flight club Young Boys.
According to Kicker, the speed machine is available for just £4.8million in the summer and that would be a bargain fee.
It is understood that German clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg are both interested in his signature.
But Leeds should throw their name into the hat for the ex-Newcastle defender if they have Premier League football next year, as the Switzerland international would be a great fit.
Mbabu impressed in the Champions League group stages for Young Boys, with some excellent individuals displays against Juventus, Manchester United and Valencia.
The 23-year-old has tremendous speed that helps him bomb down the line and his energy would be ideal for Bielsa’s Leeds.
He’s also a hard tackler that supporters would love and any team snapping him up for under £5million would be making a genius investment.
