Nottingham Forest have reportedly seen a bid of £3million rejected for Aberdeen centre-back Scott McKenna this summer, and Leeds United have surely got to take advantage.
The Daily Record claim Mark Warburton’s QPR and Forest have both seen offers of £3million turned down by Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes, with the club holding out for more if they are to sell the 22-year-old defender.
Already a Scotland international, McKenna has long been linked with a move to Celtic and a transfer down south as he continues to shine at the heart of the Dons defence. He already has 81 senior appearances for Aberdeen.
Even this season, he has played every minute of Aberdeen’s four outings in the Europa league qualifying stage – helping the Dons reach the third round after wins over Finnish side Palloseura and Georgian outfit Chikhura.

It remains to be seen what kind of figure Aberdeen would accept for McKenna, though a fee of £5million or more is likely to finally see Aberdeen give in an offload the defender. Leeds have got to jump to the front of the queue.
The Whites lost Pontus Jansson earlier in the window to Brentford and they need a replacement, despite new signing Ben White. The Brighton loanee is still young and cannot be considered as Jansson’s replacement.
Jansson gave Leeds presence at the back, strength in the air but also a comfort on the ball. McKenna has shown all those traits in Scotland and for the national side – and for a similar fee to the one Leeds received for Janssen, McKenna would be an excellent addition in the Whites’ pursuit for promotion.
