Leeds should consider attacker Ryan Babel if promoted

Leeds United still have plenty of work to do if they want to be in the Premier League next season, but as it stands they will be back in the top flight.

The Yorkshire giants are second in the Championship table and pushing for automatic promotion, but need to stay ahead of third-placed Sheffield Untied in the remaining seven games.

If Marcelo Bielsa’s team do get promoted, they will need to add some experience to the squad as their is a lack of top level experience at Elland Road.

One man that should crop up on the Whites radar if attacker Ryan Babel, who has suffered relegation with Fulham from the Premier League this season.

The 32-year-old moved to Craven Cottage in January on a permanent basis and has impressed despite being unable to help Fulham from the drop.

He’s made 11 appearances across all competitions for strugglers Fulham, scoring three goals and supplied three assists in return.

According to the Daily Star, Babel is one of several players that is set to be offloaded at the end of the season and is not going to be joining Fulham in the Championship.

Leeds should consider a swoop for the Dutchman if they get promoted, as he could add some extra quality in wide areas.

The Holland international still has tremendous pace and trickery, which has shown he’s still got the quality to make an impact in the Premier League.

Leeds need Premier League know-how if they win promotion and the ex-Liverpool dazzler could be a sensible target.
