Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to suggest that both Leeds United and Newcastle United have sent scouts to watch Leon King with the Rangers defender out of contract at Ibrox in 2024.
King is starting to enjoy what looks set to be a breakout year with the Gers. The 18-year-old has made five appearances in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.

Meanwhile, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has handed him minutes in all three of their Champions League group-stage games. He played the full 90 minutes at Anfield as Rangers lost 2-0 to Liverpool.
Leeds and Newcastle scout Leon King
It seems that his form is not going unnoticed.

Romano has suggested that a number of teams are monitoring King. And his contract with Rangers expires at the end of next season.
The journalist added that Manchester United, Leeds and Newcastle have all scouted King recently…
King is most definitely a work in progress for the Gers. His opportunity has probably come about so soon because of injuries to the Rangers squad.
But he is a ‘tremendous‘ talent. And should he now leave, he would move on with Champions League experience under his belt.
Leeds have signed a number of players from the Scottish top flight in recent years. The likes of Leo Hjelde and Rory Mahady joined from Celtic. Meanwhile, Stuart McKinstry came in from Motherwell.
So it is probably not a huge surprise that the Whites are monitoring the teenager.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have shown a desire to improve the quality of their young players knocking on the first-team door. And it is certainly an exciting time to move to Tyneside.
Rangers however, will not be in the mood to let King go without a fight.
