Alex Wollerton on trial at Barnsley
Leeds youngster Alex Wollerton appears to be on trial with Yorkshire rivals Barnsley after he was named in their academy side’s starting line-up.
The 19-year-old is out of contract this summer and seems to have been told that he can look elsewhere for a new club.
Wollerton was born in Barnsley and could return to his hometown club after featuring in an under-23 clash with Colchester United.
Izzy Brown scores for under-23s
Izzy Brown played 86 minutes and scored his fifth goal in eight matches for Leeds’ under-23 team in a 3-0 win over Watford.
The 22-year-old, who is on loan from Chelsea, is still coming back from a serious long-term ACL injury which has ruled him out for most of the season.
Brown will hope that his under-23 performance can earn him a first-team call-up, where he will look to add to his nine minutes of senior action this term.
Vinnie Jones tweets about Leeds
After nearly two years without Twitter, Vinnie Jones returned and tweeted a picture of himself in a Leeds shirt.
The 54-year-old ex-footballer-turned-actor posted a picture of himself wearing a yellow Leeds shirt with the message: “Winning doesn’t really matter as long as you win”.
Jones joined Leeds from Wimbledon in 1989 and helped his side win promotion to the top flight.
