Leeds striker Patrick Bamford will meet with Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy to talk about his international allegiance, The Times reports.

The 25-year-old was born and raised in England and represented the Three Lions up to under-21 level but his Irish grandparents ensure he qualifies for the Boys in Green.

With six goals in 14 appearances in an injury-hit season, Bamford is finding his feet at Leeds and promising to lead a promotion push.
