Leeds United are reportedly the latest Premier League side to be linked with AFC Bournemouth sensation David Brooks following the Cherries’ relegation from the top tier – and Lewis Cook recently raved about the attacker.
Brooks, 23, only managed nine appearances for Eddie Howe’s side this season after a long injury lay-off that prevented him from playing until after the restart. But in his first season at Bournemouth, he sparkled.
In just 30 Premier League appearances, he scored seven goals and created five. Bleacher Report claim Leeds are looking at the Wales international, as are many other Premier League sides. He has two years left on his contract.
“I think everyone knows he’s a top, top player. We have missed him this year,” Cook told the Echo, as Brooks returned to fitness. “He’s a great lad to have around the place and he’s a good laugh as well.
“He was looking sharp as ever when we were last in, so it’s really good to have him in and around it.”
TBR’s view – Brooks would be a stunning signing
But can Leeds tempt him into a move to Elland Road? Back in February 2019, Brooks was rated at £50million by the Daily Express, who claimed Manchester United wanted to sign the ex-Sheffield United star.
Someone has got to sign him this summer, though. Tottenham are likely to be keen, but he would hardly start for Spurs. A team like Leeds, Newcastle or West Ham may be perfect for Brooks – but it depends at what price.
