Leeds react as club could reportedly form Bielsa reunion on a free transfer

Leeds United are reportedly considering a move for Torino defender Nicolas N’Koulou on a free transfer this summer, a move which would see him form a reunion with Marcelo Bielsa – and Leeds fans have responded on Twitter to the reports.

N’Koulou, 30, is on the fringes at Torino – coming in and out of the Serie A side’s starting XI, making only 14 appearances in all competitions. The 72-time Cameroon international is out of contract in the summer, and can be signed on a free transfer.

The defender has clocked up 128 outings for Torino, having moved to Italy from France where he played for Marseille, Lyon and Monaco. During his time at Marseille, he played under Marcelo Bielsa – who won 21 of his 41 matches in charge at Marseille.

Bielsa only spent a season with the Ligue 1 side, but clearly he left a lasting impression – and perhaps, so did N’Koulou. CalcioMercato claim Leeds want to sign N’Koulou this summer, a player that can play at centre-back or in midfield.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

The Whites do have options at centre-back, with Robin Koch and Gaetano Berardi returning to provide competition for Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk. But Berardi is out of contract this summer, and clearly, they are prone to injuries.

Leeds supporters responded on Twitter to the news that Bielsa could look to form a reunion with N’Koulou on a free transfer.
