Leeds’ pursuit of Neeskens Kebano and Floyd Ayite is hindered by Fulham’s lack of attacking depth

This weekend, a report from TeamTalk claimed Leeds United were interested in signing Fulham’s promotion-winning trio of Stefan Johansen, Floyd Ayite, and Neeskens Kebano.

Yet Fulham’s current lack of attacking depth means both Ayite and Kebano occupy integral roles at Craven Cottage, hindering Leeds’ pursuit of the two dangerous wingers.

Even after the arrival of Ryan Babel in SW6, both Ayite and Kebano have maintained their places in Fulham’s matchday squad.

Most notably, Aboubakar Kamara’s absence following his recent arrest has opened up an opportunity for Kebano, who has featured as a substitute against Burnley and Tottenham in the league in past weeks.

The ingenuity and dynamism of the Democratic Republic of Congo international would be a massive boost to Leeds’ promotion push. Kebano would slot in well as an impact substitute at Elland Road, occupying a similar slot as he did with Fulham when the Whites won the play-offs in 2017/18.

The winger thrives when driving at tiring defences, with his low centre of gravity and audacious skills a nightmare for fullbacks.

Yet disappointingly for Leeds, Fulham’s current need to keep hold of Floyd Ayite and Neeskens Kebano for attacking depth appears likely to end the Championship club’s hopes of signing the dangerous duo.
