Leeds predicted lineup vs Blackburn
Leeds United will contest their second pre-season game in as many days when they face Blackburn at Ewood Park on Wednesday – and here is our predicted lineup.
Which Leeds players are likely to be involved?
Marcelo Bielsa will surely pick a strong side to face the Championship outfit.
Mark Jackson took charge of an extremely young team for the trip to Guiseley on Tuesday.
This game may present supporters with a first opportunity to see new £13 million signing Junior Firpo in action for the Whites.
But it will be interesting to see whether Bielsa deems this friendly to have come too soon for some of the players involved at Euro 2020.
Robin Koch, Liam Cooper, Tyler Roberts, Diego Llorente, Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich were all called up by their countries.
Obviously, some featured more than others. Phillips, for example, was crucial for England as they reached the final.
Koch meanwhile, failed to get off the bench for Germany. So he may well come into contention for Bielsa.
However, our predicted lineup for Leeds’ clash on Tuesday only includes one of the sextet: captain Cooper.
The others may well be setting their sights on the clash with Real Betis this weekend.
How will Bielsa’s side line up?
It is hard to imagine Bielsa springing many tactical surprises in terms of shape against Rovers.
And there will probably not be too many shocks in terms of selection with many of the young players taking part at Nethermoor Park on Tuesday.
Illan Meslier should start in goal. Meanwhile, Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk may join Cooper and Junior in defence.
Stuart Dallas could take on the Phillips role, with Jamie Shackleton in front of him. Raphinha and Jack Harrison may play either side of Rodrigo.
Patrick Bamford should lead the line as he looks to build on an outstanding first year in the top flight.
With that in mind, here is how Leeds may line up in full…
