Leeds United will be looking to end a run of three straight defeats in all competitions when they face Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Tuesday.
It looks to be a huge game for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Newcastle are on an awful run of form right now. And with games against Leicester and Everton ahead, Leeds could certainly do with a positive result and performance on Tyneside.
The good news for Leeds is Bielsa should be able to hand out a full debut against the Magpies.
Diego Llorente’s only appearance for Leeds came when he came off the bench against Chelsea in December.
His time at Elland Road has been plagued by injury. But the Spaniard – who earns £22,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – recently got 45 minutes under his belt for the under-23s. And he will surely start alongside Liam Cooper.
Elsewhere, Leeds will welcome Kalvin Phillips back. He was missed in the loss against Brighton as he served a one-match suspension. If he is available, he will be one of the first names on the team sheet.
There may be a change in goal if Illan Meslier is ready. The Frenchman has missed the last two games, but the fans will be hoping to hear that he is able to replace Kiko Casilla.
The inclusions of Llorente and Phillips should lead to Gjanni Alioski and Pascal Struijk dropping down to the bench.
With that in mind, here is how Leeds may line up against Newcastle on Tuesday…
