Leeds plotting fresh bid for ‘excellent’ Tottenham player after landing Joe Rodon

Leeds United have already been able to sign one player from Tottenham Hotspur this summer with the addition of Joe Rodon.

The two clubs have formed a solid relationship when it comes to doing business together over the years.

Players like Aaron Lennon, Jack Clarke and more recently Archie Gray and Joe Rodon have all made the move between clubs.

Tottenham have allowed a fair few players to depart north London already this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to clear the decks of any unwanted players.

And it seems as if the clearout may not quite be over just yet with Leeds now showing interest in singing yet another player from the Lilywhites.

Leeds readying fresh bid for ‘excellent’ Tottenham player

Considering the progress made at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season in Postecoglou’s first term in charge, Spurs have not exactly been that proactive in the window.

The focus has largely been on outgoings with Daniel Levy having sanctioned the exit of numerous players.

Spurs have taken a financial hit on the large majority of those departures with only Rodon and Troy Parrott‘s sale seeing money come back into the club.

However, there could soon be another sale to follow.

According to PlanetSport, Leeds are now readying a fresh bid for Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp.

It is believed the Yorkshire club are looking to find a replacement following the sale of Glen Kamara who has just left for Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.

The report claims Skipp was initially discussed by Leeds during the negotiations for Gray but Spurs were not open to selling at the time.

Oliver Skipp could join Leeds on an initial loan

With Spurs said to be looking to find a replacement for Skipp before offloading the midfielder, the report does suggest the 23-year-old could leave on loan.

Rodon did the same last summer, however, his move was a straight-up loan with no option to make it permanent this summer.

It is hard to imagine Leeds would make the same mistake if they were to land Skipp on loan this summer.

After all, this is a player who Daniel Farke knows extremely well following their time together at Norwich City in the Championship.

Skipp has been hailed as ‘excellent‘ during his time in north London, but the minutes are just not available for him under the Australian manager.
