Leeds pair Kiko Casilla and Pablo Hernandez will be vital in the play-offs

Leeds United face Ipswich Town on the final day of the Championship season on Sunday, but will then turn their attention to the play-offs.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side need to pick themselves up from the disappointment of narrowly missing out on automatic promotion and have to chase an alternative route into the Premier League.

The Whites are a youthful group that have excited at Elland Road this season, but there isn’t a great deal of experience within the ranks.

The play-offs are high stakes fixtures that will test the players mentally and Leeds will be desperate to overcome them.

They will have a two-legged semi-final and a final at Wembley for promotion if they win.

There should be a slight concern about the lack of experience in the group, but there are some high-profile players at the Yorkshire club.

Leeds goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has played at arguably the world’s biggest club Real Madrid, where he’s been in net for Champions League fixtures.

The 32-year-old is someone that the younger players should turn towards and he should have no fears going into the play-offs.

Meanwhile, 34-year-old Spaniard Pablo Hernandez has seen it all before too and represented his national team.

The attacking midfielder has the composure required over the next few weeks and should really come to the fore.
