Leeds Transfer News: Azzedine Ounahi latest as 'max offer' revealed
Leeds United have moved to the front of the queue when it comes to signing Azzedine Ounahi, with a £22m bid apparently lodged.
The Whites are among a number of clubs keen on signing Ounahi. The Moroccan midfielder was one of the stars of the show in the World Cup, and Angers are keen to cash in if they can.
The likes of Napoli, Leicester and Tottenham have all been credited with holding interest in Ounahi as well. But now, according to Il Mattino, it is Leeds who have moved to the front of the queue to sign him.
Il Mattino reports how a bid of £22m has come from Leeds. That bid is believed to have surpassed the money on offer from Leicester, who have bid around £18m as it stands. The player himself is thought to prefer a move to Napoli, but as yet, the Italian side haven’t moved.
Ounahi, dubbed ‘incredible‘ for his performances in the World Cup, could well be open to the riches of the Premier League.
TBR’s View: Ounahi can help Leeds avoid relegation battle
Leeds have moved quickly to sign Georgino Rutter, but they do need a few more new faces you feel.
At the moment, Leeds are struggling to put any sort of run together, and adding a few new faces like Ounahi would go a long way helping them avoid any sort of relegation trouble.
We saw last season how the pressure can build and Marsch will be keen to avoid that. Adding Rutter is a start, but bringing Ounahi in wouldn’t half help matters further.
