Leeds United’s game against Swansea City at Elland Road tonight may take on added significance for visiting winger Daniel James.
The Telegraph report that James’ deadline day move from Wales to Yorkshire fell apart at the last minute because Swansea pulled the plug and he has the opportunity to show Marcelo Bielsa what he’s missing out on tonight.
But James is not the only Swansea man with Leeds connections on the field tonight; Swans midfielder Matt Grimes had a loan spell at Elland Road under Garry Monk during the 2016/17 season.
He failed to impress, making just seven Championship appearances under Monk as Leeds slipped out of the play-off places in the closing stages of the season.

The player Leeds will face tonight is a more confident, mature and on-form prospect than the player who failed to make any real impact two seasons ago.
Grimes is now showing the talent that convinced former Swans boss Monk to bring him in on loan and his quality in possession could cause the home side problems tonight.
All eyes will be on how James gets on against the side he should really have been representing tonight, but Grimes will also have his own point to prove.
Leeds must beware the threat of a player looking to put his best foot forward or risk losing further ground in the promotion race.
