Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has admitted he’s currently enjoying his best ever season in football to date.
The 28-year-old has become an integral first teamer at Elland Road this campaign and manager Marcelo Bielsa deserves immense credit for drafting him in after his loan spell away.
Klich is an all-action central midfielder that works tirelessly for the Whites and it’s his attacking threat that has made him vital to the team.
The Poland international is now up to eight goals and seven assists so far in the league, while there are still nine more games to play.
Leeds currently occupy an automatic promotion spot in the Championship and have a vital game with third-placed Sheffield United on Saturday.
Klich’s comments certainly indicate the turnaround in his own fortunes and he’s not the only player to have a massive boost from Bielsa.
“This year it has been different, I enjoy being on the pitch, and I enjoy being part of the future of Leeds United. It has been the best season of my life,” Klich said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
Klich endured a small patch of disappointing form midway through the season, but for the most part he’s been a Rolls-Royce and a real standout in the Championship.
The midfielder really is on cloud nine right now playing in an exciting team full of confidence and it will be intriguing to see how they would fare in the Premier League next season if promoted.
Klich certainly sets the tone for Bielsa’s style with his energy and pressing, while his goals from midfield are proving crucial too.
