Leeds United look extremely thin in attack right now due to Kemar Roofe’s injury absence, meaning that Patrick Bamford has the sole responsibility to lead the line.
But Bamford himself is only just returning from an injury problem and youngster Tyler Roberts appears to be the only alternative at striker, while there are some bright sparks at Under-23s level too.
The Whites missed the chance to go top of the Championship when they lost 1-0 away to QPR on Tuesday night and the lack of firepower in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad right now is an issue.
Leeds loanee Caleb Ekuban is certainly someone who could have done a good job stepping up as cover if he was still at Elland Road.
The 24-year-old attacker is on a season-long loan at Turkish top-flight club Trabzonspor, where he has made a positive impact.
He has scored seven goals and supplied two assists in just 25 games across all competitions this campaign.

Ekuban can play at striker or on the wing and a lack of senior options at centre-forward right now is damaging the automatic promotion prospects of Leeds.
The speed machine didn’t make a serious impact with the Yorkshire giants during his first season with the club last year, scoring just two goals in 21 games.
But Bielsa has managed to get the best out of players that previously flopped in England and who knows if Ekuban could have followed a similar path.
