Leeds injury news: Patrick Bamford now set to be available against Aston Villa tomorrow evening
Leeds know how important their next game is, as they currently sit perilously close to the relegation zone.
Although they’re currently in 14th, they’re separated from 19th place Wolves by just three points.
Thankfully, the likes of Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have significantly worse goal differences.
Marsch was updated the media about the fitness of his first-team squad.
He had some bad news about Crysencio Summerville, who will unavailable for a month after he substituted at the weekend.
However, he did have a positive update too, and announced that Patrick Bamford will be available for Leeds tomorrow night.
The £10m forward is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League this season.
He may have an extra incentive to do so very soon, with the club about to break its transfer record on a new forward.
Bamford available for Leeds against Aston Villa
Speaking to the press, Marsch said: “Patrick is back training and in the squad.”
Bamford hasn’t played a competitive game since before the World Cup, and has struggled all season with his fitness.
He travelled to Germany during the mid-season break to have a small procedure on his groin.
Bamford will be hoping that will allow him to play a much bigger role in the second half of the campaign.
His position in the team has always been challenged by a number of young forwards at Leeds.
He looks set to have to deal with the arrival of Georginio Rutter very soon, who looks set to break Leeds’ transfer record.
Bamford being available to face Aston Villa is certainly a boost, and will hopefully take some of the pressure off Rodrigo Moreno.
The Spanish attacker is having an exceptional season in front of goal, and could reach double figures if he finds the back of the net tomorrow.
