Leeds have 'definite interest' in £30m striker who's been compared to Thierry Henry - journalist
Leeds United have expressed a “definite interest” in signing Martin Terrier, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.
The Whites have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window this summer, making six signings.
Now, it looks as though Leeds boss Jesse Marsch wants to bring in more firepower to Elland Road.
The Whites could do with someone who can play alongside Patrick Bamford and also in place of him when necessary.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Arnaud Kalimuendo has been linked with a move throughout the summer.
Indeed, Media Foot claims that the Whites made an offer in the region of £18million for him.
Leeds are also being linked with Terrier, who plies his trade for Rennes and apparently has a £30million price tag.
Taylor, writing on GiveMeSport, understands that there is firm interest from Leeds in a move for Terrier this summer
However, the Daily Express journalist is unsure whether the Whites will be willing to match the asking price.
He says other targets remain under consideration too, with who they move for up for this summer still an uncertainty.
“Terrier is one there’s definite interest in from Leeds,” wrote Taylor.
“But I do question whether they have the kind of money available to sign him, because he would probably cost £35million, £30million.
“Given the sales or Raphinha and Phillips, that’s doable, for sure.
“I think there’s a handful of potential targets. But at the moment it’s not clear who exactly they’re going to push for.”

Aside from his impressive goalscoring tally – 21 Ligue 1 goals last term – Terrier is a very versatile attacker.
The £19,000-a-week ace has done well on the left of the front three this year, but he is also capable of playing in the middle.
On Twitter, fans have previously compared Terrier to the likes of Robin van Persie, Dimitar Berbatov and Robert Pires.
European football writer Tim Williams recently compared the 25-year-old to Thierry Henry.
“He’s a very quick, left-sided right-footed attacking player whose trademark is coming in off the left flank and whipping shots in, a la Thierry Henry,” he told the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.
Indeed, Henry has also backed Terrier for a France call-up, the Premier League legend insisting he really likes the player.
