German side Hamburg have confirmed on their Twitter page that Pierre-Michel Lasogga has left the club and is now available on a free transfer.
Lasogga of course spent the 2017/18 season on loan with Leeds United, where he scored ten Championship goals during a season that started promisingly but petered out under Paul Heckingbottom.
He netted 19 goals across all competitions this season in Germany, and now that he’s on the market for nothing, many Leeds fans are desperate for their club to act to bring him back.
Patrick Bamford struggled for form and fitness last time out, while Kemar Roofe could never string a run of matches together after the early part of the season.

Lasogga’s work-rate and fitness was called into question by some supporters, but with Marcelo Bielsa’s insistence on getting fit and working hard, if Lasogga fell into line, he could be magic.
That’s what Leeds fans seem to feel – that Bielsa could get so much out of the frontman – and we’ve put together the best of the excited reaction…
