Leeds United travel to Nottingham Forest in their next game at the weekend – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have claimed they want to see teenage goalkeeper Illan Meslier promoted to the side.

The Whites go to the City Ground to face Forest in the Championship and are in a poor run of form right now.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team have lost three out of their last four league matches, which means they now sit second in the table and third-placed Fulham are only three points behind them.

The Yorkshire giants are slowly losing their grip on the automatic spots in the race for promotion and there is a similar pattern emerging of dropping off in the second half of the season.

Leeds have obvious problems going forward in terms of converting all their chances, but defensive errors have started to creep into their game too.

Number one goalkeeper Kiko Casilla made another individual error in the defeat to Millwall at the weekend and has cost his team on several occasions this season.

The 33-year-old doesn’t posses a real presence in his box and his shot-stopping lately has let him down.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media want to see Casilla dropped for the next match against Forest and replaced by highly-rated talent Meslier.

Meslier has made just one appearance this season during his loan spell from Lorient, but he made a big impression in it.

The 19-year-old starred in a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup and he looked a promising star in the fixture.

His distribution from the back was immaculate at the Emirates Stadium, as well as being a 6ft 6in colossus that commanded his 18-yard box/
