Leeds fans want £5.6m-rated playmaker back, after stunning strike

Samu Saiz finally opened his account for loan side Getafe at the weekend with an excellent strike into the top corner during the La Liga defeat to Real Sociedad – and Leeds fans are desperate to see him return.

The 28-year-old struggled under Marcelo Bielsa during the first half of the season, scoring one goal and laying on just four assists in 21 outings. It saw him leave on loan in the January window.

But his form has hardly improved. Indeed, Saiz has managed just 282 minutes of first-team action for Getafe. He failed to make a single league appearance between February 9 and April 25.

El Gol Digital claim that Getafe are unlikely to activate Saiz’s £5.6million permanent clause, but his goal could remind Getafe what he is capable of. Here is his strike, curling an audacious effort into the top corner with ease.

The likes of Tyler Roberts and Pablo Hernandez have filled in for Saiz since his Elland Road departure, while Lewis Baker’s loan was cancelled and he has since left Chelsea again to join Reading.

Leeds fans reacted to Saiz’s goal with many wowed by the Spaniard. Some have urged him to come back from Getafe for the play-offs, but unfortunately this is not allowed.

As it was an international transfer, Saiz is not allowed to play for Leeds again until July 1. But many were impressed with his effort in the blue of Getafe.
