Leeds United host Burnley on Sunday lunchtime in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have stated they want to see Pascal Struijk recalled to the starting line-up.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side host Burnley at Elland Road tomorrow for an important league fixture, with both hoping to pull even further away from the relegation spots.

The Whites will be looking to respond to a 6-2 hammering away to Manchester United in their previous match, but they can take heart from the fact they look a real threat going forward and the last time they failed to score was 22 November.

With centre-backs Robin Koch and Liam Cooper both injured for the Yorkshire club, it’ll be interesting to see who manager Bielsa starts in the heart of defence.

Diego Llorente is back available for Leeds once again, while a selection of the club’s supporters on social media feel that Struijk should come into contention.

Struijk is versatile in the sense that he can play in the midfield and has done for large parts of his brief Leeds career, but he’s a centre-back by trade and the left-footer may be a natural replacement for club captain Cooper.

The 21-year-old hasn’t started in the league since 7 November against Crystal Palace, but is a regular first-team squad member and is someone Bielsa could call upon.

His aerial presence is something that fans are crying out for against a Burnley team who are known for being a physical side and will be aiming to expose Leeds’ frailties from set-pieces.
