Leeds United take on League Two side Salford City in the pick of the 33 Carabao Cup fixtures that are being played on Tuesday night – and Whites fans want Matuesz Bogusz to finally make his competitive debut.

The Whites take on Salford at the Peninsula Stadium with the second round of the competition up for grabs, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side go up against one of the most popular clubs in the Football League.

That is because 60% of Salford is owned by Manchester United’s class of ’92. David Beckham, Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt all own 10% of the fourth-tier side.

Their backing has seen Salford go from non-league nobodies to promotion from the National League into the Football League. Leeds is the biggest club that Salford will have played against in the history of the club, by far.

Bogusz, 17, is yet to make his professional debut for Leeds, despite being involved during pre-season. He has been on the bench for Leeds’ first two outings this time round, but failed to make his debut since being signed in January.

Bielsa has hinted that the players on the bench in the league games will get a chance and that surely suggests Bogusz will start against Salford – to the delight of Leeds United fans on Twitter, who are desperate to see him start.
