Leeds United fans think they have spotted the club’s first signing of the summer window walking into Elland Road alongside director of football Victor Orta.

Earlier this month, the Whites were linked with a move for Barcelona B striker Rafa Mujica. Spanish newspaper Marca claimed that the 20-year-old had already agreed terms with the Yorkshire club.

Now that Marcelo Bielsa has agreed to sign on for another 12 months, it appears that transfer work has already begun at the club. The club are likely to be on the lookout for a centre-back, winger and a striker.

But additions to Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side are also expected, and Mujica is one of those. Playing for Barca’s reserves, he scored seven goals in 33 games. Leeds fans believe they have spotted him outside Elland Road.

There has been no confirmation from Barcelona, Leeds or Mujica himself that the photo is indeed the striker, but Leeds fans are confident it is the youngster.

Other Leeds fans also believe they believe the unknown player in the picture to be Mujica, with many fans getting excited on Twitter.

TBR’s view

Leeds have options up front in their reserves. Ryan Edmondson has been banging in the goals for fun, while Kun Temenuzhkov – who also joined from Barcelona – has impressed.

Edmondson is believed to be given a chance to make the step up to the senior side, given his physical frame and appearance that he is already more than ready to cope with the strength of first-team football.

So a space may have opened up in the second string, and Mujica could be about to take on that gauntlet.
