Frank Lampard criticised Liverpool’s coaching staff and accused of them arrogance after the Reds beat Chelsea 5-3 at Anfield before lifting the Premier League trophy – and Leeds United fans are in shock.

Liverpool held aloft the Premier League trophy after a 5-3 win over Lampard’s Chelsea at Anfield, thanks to goals from Naby Keita, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gini Wijnaldum, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Alexander-Arnold scored a stunning effort from 25 yards after Mateo Kovacic had fouled Sadio Mane with a slide tackle. Liverpool’s bench jumped up and pleaded for a foul, which drew a feisty reaction from Lampard.

He accused the Liverpool bench of arrogance after the match, applauding them for winning the Premier League title but stating that with that title comes the responsibility to act accordingly. Clearly, Lampard was frustrated.

“Fair play to Liverpool Football Club, they’ve won the league, but also don’t get too arrogant with it,” Lampard said, during an interview with Sky Sports after the match.

His comments did not go down well with Leeds fans. Rewind one season, Lampard and his Derby County players celebrated furiously at Elland Road after a play-off victory over Marcelo Bielsa’s side – binoculars and all.

For Lampard to then accuse Liverpool of arrogance and criticise them for acting like Premier League champions, did not sit well with Leeds fans. They reacted on Twitter, criticising the Blues boss.
