Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Iturraspe is the latest player to be linked with a move to Marcelo Bielsa’s revolution at Elland Road – and some Leeds United fans are stunned.
Spanish newspaper AS have claimed that Leeds are interested in bringing 30-year-old midfielder Iturraspe to Elland Road next season, with his contract at Bielsa’s former side set to expire.
The midfielder, who has won two caps for Spain, has only ever played for Bilbao since breaking into the Basque club’s first team. He has clocked up a total of 319 appearances in all competitions.
However, the midfielder has managed just four appearances in all competitions this season and looks set to leave, given his contract expires at the end of the season.
The report claims Iturraspe is tempted to rejoin Bielsa who worked as Bilbao manager for two years between 2011 and 2013. But he will be even more tempted if the Whites return to the Premier League.
Leeds fans reacted to the news that their club could raid Bielsa’s old side for the midfield general. He would rival Kalvin Phillips for a place at the base of the midfield, behind the likes of Matuesz Klich.
Not even funny how good this guy is

Probably past his best. Knows the Bieisa philosophy and can get the ball down and play. Wouldn’t be a bad signing, especially on a free!
