Ryan Kent has struggled at Rangers since his £7million move to Ibrox on a permanent basis last summer from Liverpool – and Leeds United supporters are relieved their club did not land the English winger, despite being linked.
Kent, 23, initially joined Steven Gerrard’s side in the summer of 2018 on a season-long loan and he instantly impressed. Indeed, the former Barnsley and Bristol City loanee had a hand in 15 goals during 42 league and cup outings.
It saw Rangers choose to splash £7million (Record) to sign Kent last summer. Since then, he has enjoyed moments such as scoring in the 2-1 win over Celtic and finding the back of the net in the second last 32 leg against Braga.
The Yorkshire Evening Post claimed in September 2019 that Leeds had agreed a fee for Kent, too, but chose to sign a striker instead. Indeed, it is believed Jack Harrison’s form made Marcelo Bielsa look for a striker instead.
Now, Kent is struggling for consistent form while Harrison has become a regular in the Leeds side – clocking up 39 appearances for the Whites as they close in on promotion to the Premier League. Leeds can land Harrison for £8million.
Leeds fans discussed Rangers winger Kent on Twitter and are relieved that they chose to sign Harrison, instead of spending big on Kent.
