Leeds fans reckons Mateusz Bogusz is in the first team after U23 no show

Leeds United’s Under-23 side continued their dominance in the Professional Development League North with a comfortable win over Ipswich Town – but Leeds fans have made a prediction about Mateusz Bogusz.

Carlos Corberan’s side included Gaetano Berardi, Adam Forshaw and Izzy Brown, and the Whites eased to a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Clarke Oduor, Ryan Edmondson and defender Berardi.

Berardi and Forshaw started the match but were replaced after 35 minutes, signalling that both will be involved in the matchday squad to take on Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Jack Clarke also played – coming on at half-time for Jordan Stevens. But it was the absence of Poland youth international Bogusz that has fans talking on Twitter.

Since joining Corberan’s reserve side in January from Polish outfit Ruch Churzow, Bogusz has been a delight to watch. A number 10, his array of passing, eye for goal and strength on the ball far surpass that of a 17-year-old.

Brown was allowed to play the entire 90 minutes against Ipswich, meaning there is little chance he will be picked to play against Preston in a crucial Championship clash at Deepdale.

Leeds fans have predicted, then, that Bogusz could be involved with the first team. It would be the first time Bogusz has been called up to be a part of the matchday squad, and supporters feel it is deserved.
