A number of Leeds United have taken to Twitter to react to Marcelo Bielsa’s latest comments concerning Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah – which have been reported by Leeds Live.
Bielsa has been lauded for the large majority of his tenure at Elland Road. But it appears that the current issue involving the club’s two strikers is not exactly doing his popularity many favours.

Nketiah staked a further claim to start in the Championship with his 87th minute equaliser at Preston in midweek. He has now scored three goals in nine substitute appearances in the league.
Meanwhile, Bamford has not scored since the end of August. He remains the team’s top goalscorer. But Bielsa’s decision to keep faith with the 2018 signing has attracted criticism.

And ahead of Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday, Bielsa attempted to explain why he continues to frustrate those imploring him to free Eddie.
“Bamford ran for the needs of the team. Nketiah ran just to try and score,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live. “The metres that Bamford ran is true to the team. And to finish, Nketiah puts these meters in to finish the action.
“It’s natural. What I’m looking for, to achieve that Eddie feels the needs of the team and that he understands if he doesn’t put the metres in both things, he is going to have less chances to score.
“After saying that, I am not 100% sure what I’m saying. Football is football.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Bielsa’s comments have divided the fans. There are some who have backed the boss and his stance of sticking by Bamford.
However, others have been left extremely disappointed. While Bielsa may feel that Nketiah’s running could lead to fewer chances, they have pointed out that the Arsenal loanee is the one taking chances at the moment.
Bamford had a disappointing evening at Deepdale on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Nketiah found the back of the net with his one effort.
And while some have backed Bielsa, others have admitted that they cannot agree with the boss’ opinion on this issue.
