Leeds fans react to what they're hearing about Arsenal tie
A number of baffled Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that the club confirmed on their official website concerning their upcoming Carabao Cup tie with Arsenal.
What’s the story?
Leeds have been handed a trip to the Emirates in the fourth round of the competition.
It looks to be an important tie for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. They have gone further in this year’s competition than in any cup run during Bielsa’s tenure.
And they are set to face Arsenal. The pair have played out some very notable cup games in the last decade.
In 2011, Leeds were moments away from knocking the Gunners out of the FA Cup when leading 1-0 in North London. However, Theo Walcott won a very contentious penalty, and Arsenal won the replay.
One year later saw Thierry Henry mark his return to Arsenal in incredible fashion with a superb winner.
And it was this fixture that saw Leeds provide the clearest hint that they would be fine in the Premier League as they pushed Arsenal all the way in 2020.
The then-Championship promotion-chasers were scintillating in the first-half and could have killed the game off.
However, they were punished for not taking their chances. Reiss Nelson scored a second-half winner for Arsenal.
And it seems that they have now been punished again off the back of that game almost two years ago.
Leeds have confirmed on their official website that they have received a ticket allocation of 5,200 for next month’s tie.
And the club report that they have only been allocated the lower tier due to the fans’ persistent standing in the previous cup fixture.
‘Don’t want us creating more noise’: Leeds fans react to Arsenal ticket allocation
Unsurprisingly, the news has not gone down well with many Leeds fans. In fact, a look on social media would suggest that plenty of Arsenal supporters are not impressed with the decision.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Leeds fans make of the reports…
Don’t want us creating more noise, still will anyway 👊🏼

Arsenal scared of getting an actual atmosphere inside the stadium 🏟.
Ridiculous that the allocation is smaller than the one we got at Fulham, and they only had 3 stands available.
Hopefully I will get a ticket again but looking less likely now

They just wanted to ensure the home and away supporters would be equal in numbers.

How pathetic, not one person stood up last season when we played there 😤
