Leeds fans react to Tyler Roberts’ under-23 display
Tyler Roberts appears to have continued his charge to silence his doubters with another bright display as Leeds United’s under-23s beat Stoke on Monday.
Roberts was one of the few shining lights to emerge from the first-team’s defeat at the weekend. He brought some real intent onto the pitch after being introduced as a second-half substitute.

And he was handed another chance to impress this week. The Wales international started for Mark Jackson’s side as they hosted the Potters at Thorp Arch.
It was Diego Llorente who scored the decisive goal. But Roberts managed to impress many with his contribution before he was taken off at the break.

He produced some outstanding touches. And he certainly showed glimpses of the player who somewhat stole the show in last season’s 4-0 win at Hull City.
And his performance prompted many on social media to suggest that they are excited about the form Roberts seems to be finding. There is a sense that he is about to hit a purple patch.
There had been speculation about the 21-year-old’s future. The Daily Mirror reported that a number of Championship sides had showed an interest in taking Roberts on loan.
At the time, the forward was unavailable to Marcel Bielsa – which only fuelled speculation that he may not be in the Leeds boss’ plans.
But there is surely little chance of Roberts now leaving in this window. He looks like he is raring to take any chance that comes his way.
With that in mind, here is how of the Leeds fans reacted to his under-23 display…
Llorente was class above everyone else inU23 game today as expect. No more messing about with square pegs in round holes. Llorente must start next game & Ayling to RB. Tyler Roberts showed same hunger & energy showed when came on Sat. ! Noah Kenneh should be on bench too #lufc

Did Roberts have covid or was he bitten by a radioactive spider? Looks unreal here. #lufc

I take back anything bad I’ve ever said about Tyler Roberts, lads got serious talent. @official_tyro

Only thing stopping Roberts being a really good player for us is a consistent end product. A loan spell to the Championship where he’s playing regularly could do wonders. He’s only 21 and definitely no where near as bad as people make out on here. #lufc

Obviously need to be mindful of the level but Roberts has looked confident and hungry. Good signs after his encouraging display at the weekend #lufc

Observations from U23s 1st half. Llorente should walk straight into the starting 11, Davis is a better all round LB than Alioski. Roberts is playing with the energy, desire and movement so badly lacking from our 9 on Saturday. Poveda continues to frustrate, so much ability. #lufc
