Leeds United defender Barry Douglas is reportedly attracting interest from Scottish champions Celtic – and some Whites fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they don’t want him to leave Elland Road.
According to Sky Sports, the 30-year-old is “high up” on a transfer shortlist for Celtic, as they look to sign a new left-back in the summer window.
The Scottish full-back previously admitted on Talking Shutt’s podcast that he grew up a Rangers supporter, but their Old Firm rivals are now reportedly considering trying to bring him to Parkhead.
Douglas played a bit-part role for Leeds last season during the club’s successful bid for Championship promotion, but there are some who feel he can still be of use in the Premier League.
The attack-minded left-back made 17 appearances across all competition last season, but Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski were also impressive options in that area of the pitch.
He’s an experienced player that has proven himself in England with Leeds and previously Wolverhampton Wanderers, but is being offered a route back to Scotland where he started his career at Queen’s Park.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media have started it would be a mistake to allow Douglas’ departure and want him to stick around for the new season.
